Here is the second batch of GlenAllachie’s 10 year Old Cask Strength single malt Scotch whisky. Just like the first batch, this one was drawn from a variety of casks, including first-fill bourbon, virgin oak, Oloroso sherry and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. This time, however, it’s been bottled at 54.8% ABV.
Nose: Toasted almonds, mango, vanilla and a hint of liquorice.
Palate: Green apple sharpness tempered by honey and butter. A good core of malt loaf, toffee and quince.
Finish: Lasting nutmeg and black pepper heat.
