“Inchmurrin 12 year old from Loch Lomond distillery, rebranded in 2015 as part of the Inchmurrin ‘Islands Collection’. Which is rather apt, as Inchmurrin is the largest fresh water island in the British Isles, and it sits in Loch Lomond! Coincidence? We think not. Anyway, this is a wonderfully creamy single malt, which features whisky drawn from a trio of cask style, namely Bourbon casks, refill casks and recharred casks.
Nose: Creamy sweet cereals and allspice. Hints of toffee apples and pear drops. A little caramel and furniture polish.
Palate: Smooth, rich palate entry with barley malt and salt caramel. Dried herbs, candied peels and allspice.
Finish: Medium-long finish. Spicy.”
